At UMKC, we are beginning a process to incorporate and an EHR across the curriculum to both teach skills in HCIT and also gather assessment products. Is anyone else incorporating an EHR in their curriculum and if so are you developing your own or using a commercial product? What courses are you starting with?? If you already started any suggestions re getting faculty buy in, student buy in etc....
Thanks

Internet-Based Learning
In the September 10th, 2008 JAMA there was a nice review/meta analysis titled "Internet-Based learning in the Health Professions". Any thoughts on the article?

Portfolios
This topic continues to be important to members of the SIG. At Auburn, we implemented ePortfolios (from ROI/PEMS) this semester in our first 3 professional years with emphasis in the entry class. Our efforts focus on the portfolio supporting our longitudinal experiential course that starts in the first year. Students use the portfolio for reflective exercises that focus on several topics. Instructors can also elect to use the ePortfolio in their courses as desired.

Welcome!
As discussed at our business meeting, here is the TiPEL SIG's blog. We can share thoughts, links, and whatever else is on your mind regarding the SIG's efforts.
To get us going, I am in going to start another post on the topic of portfolios.
